1. The Project Idea

For our Software Engineering course at IIITV, a team of 6 members(Anil, Madhukar, Megana, Tanmay, Vikesh and me)  was formed to create a project of our own choice. The project idea is best obtained when you hold brainstorming sessions where raw ideas emerge and if all the team members agree, we go on solidifying the idea until it complete. So, we did the same and after many ideas, we finally decided to do something about waste management and after some discussion, the idea was formulated.
The main idea of our project is to promote the recycling of Solid waste and to increase the sales of recycled goods produced by the recycling industries. The stakeholders in our project are the people in general who sell solid wastes to scrap dealers, the scrap dealers, recycling industries, manufacturers of recycled products.
For clarity, let us divide the idea into two different parts:

Part 1: The waste collection part

First, we contact some scrap dealers who collect scrap directly from customers and ask them to work for us. They go to collect scrap from customers who in turn get credits for selling their scrap to our scrap dealers. The scrap dealers sell the sorted solid wastes to us and after sufficient collection, we sell them to the recycling industries. The credits will be credited to the registered customer's account after verification by the scrap dealer.

Part 2: The recycled product selling part

We plan to create an e-commerce website to facilitate the selling of recycled products online. For this, we need to contact the manufacturers of recycled products to display their products on our website. The customers will have the option to buy the products from their earned credits or from cash or a combination of both.

2. Requirement Analysis

After figuring out the App Idea, We need to have an In-Depth understanding of our requirements for the project and this can be done best via surveying the various stakeholders associated with the project. The various stakeholders associated with our project were: The Customers, who sold the scrap and bought the recycled goods from our recycled products selling website. The scrap dealers, who would help us in collection of the scraps from the customers, and The Industries, which would accept our segregated scrap and would put up their recycled products for sale on our website. For the first stakeholder, we circulated Google Forms to all our contacts via the social networks and asked them to fill the form and also to share them with their associates. The response was pretty good. We received close to 200 responses and they were from different states, different age groups, and also from different work backgrounds. The survey details are as follows: ...
